What a fantastic book! Ever since I began gardening, I have wanted to grow cut flowers. I have never been able to find a resource showing how to incorporate them into a vegetable garden other than randomly placing them amongst vegetable plantings. Lisa's book shows you how to do just that!
The photography is beautiful and makes me longer for summer with vases of flowers all through the house. She touches on the insects that are attracted, natural ways to encourage other beneficial birds and animals, and, my favorite part of the book, the garden plans! I have a large 40x60 garden and cannot wait to spend the next few weeks plotting out my vegetable beds AND flower beds! Two big thumbs up!

Absolutely love this book! From the beautiful cover and photography to the way it is written... the author drawing you in. With many gardening books, I tend to skim through and browse for what interests me or catches my eye on the pages... this book, however... Every page is worth the read. The author pulls you in with her obvious passion, love and expertise of what she is talking about.... An easy read that had me longing to soak up the wealth of information that Lisa shares with every turn of the page. Great for beginner, intermediate and advanced gardeners!

I love everything about this book! The instructions are clear and the photography is beautiful. We have a garden and I have flower beds but I've never put the two together, so I'm going to this year and see how it goes. I also had no idea that I can plant cool weather seeds in the fall in my zone 7 garden in the Southwest U.S. so I'm excited about trying this as well. I saw Lisa speak at a Mother Earth News Fair in Texas and she is a wonderful speaker as well as author.

Excellent book on a topic that has not been much written about: how to attract pollinators by growing flowers. The pollinators will reward you by giving you a good vegetable harvest so mutual benefit is obtained. In addition the earlier you can plant the flowers, the earlier you will be providing food for the pollinators. This book meshes well with her earlier book, Cool Flowers, in that she again explains what flowers are the best to grow for the earliest bloom, how to grow them, and the timing to plant those flowers regardless of what zone you are in. Her virtual book study (free) is an added treat.

Another great book by Lisa. Great, easy to understand and follow for doing what she does. This is beautiful enough to be a coffee table book but from my experience with her other books, it will be by my side from start to finish each step of the way throughout the gardening season. I have read it cover to cover, already marking notes of special interest, given it as gifts and shared it with friends and neighbors who are ordering there own. A must have for gardeners no matter their experience!

I bought this book thinking it would be another reference on companion planting. I've been twisting myself in knots for three years trying to organize my organic veggie garden using those principles... and what I end up doing is growing a lot of things I don't really need and not enough of what I want to eat! And I still have pest issues. This book SET ME FREE. Want a beautiful veggie garden? Read Lisa's book. Break free from the jigsaw puzzle of
