You get what you pay for. Though the pump doesn't seem super high quality and it's instruction manual looks as though it was written in Chinese and run through Google translate, I cannot complain too much about the pump because it did run and was able to pull a vacuum as it was supposed to. The biggest disappointment was the gauges however. Though they were able to maintain a vacuum while the pump was running, as soon as the pump was shut off, the system lost vacuum in under a minute. Yes, it was the gauges leaking, not my AC. I disconnected the gauges, closed the output valves, pulled a vacuum on only the gauges, and they still leaked. This was no good, because if Freon were added after the system lost vacuum and filled with air, the air would damage the ac system over time. I ended up having to go to Autozone and buy a set of quality gauges that did not leak. If you want a cheap pump, this one may be okay, but steer clear of the gauges.

After you run it for 10 minutes and stop it, then try re-starting it, it sometimes seizes and wont turn until you jam a prying instrument in the back of the cooling vane and manually turn the motor over.

I use this primarily to vacuum de-gas my homemade wine. Works like a charm to make a vacuum on it. Not sure just how great it would be to work on vehicle A/C systems as it seems underpowered for that.

I think the gauges are ok and so are the valves.
I bought this set about 6 months ago and all 3 of the hoses have failed. they did work fine untill it broke. cheaply made hoses
I hope I can get a good set of hoses somewhere
I have not even tried to use the vacuum pump because the hose will not connect to it, you need some adapter that does NOT come with the kit.

i've only used the set 3 times.

Pump works good but the gauge lines don't seat because they are plastic instead of rubber. I loss more r12 then I put in, it costing more in Freon then this whole set up cost. Then they want me to pay to ship whole thing back vac pump and all from Florida to California about 40+ I am guess by the weight of it

The Vacuum pump worked like a champ. The manifold gauges were ok but the hoses were cheap. they were stiff and hard to handle. The hoes ends had to use extra fittings to get them to fit and to use the refrigerant required a fitting that was not with the kit. All in all it was ok for the price but if you are going to use this often get a better set of hoses.

Got the job done but the gauges came without a seal in one of the ends. Company sent me a hole new adapter instead. I did a good job of explaining what the problem but why they sent me the adapter made no sense. I gave up and still need a new hose but it worked well.

Vacuum pump was good quality. Gauge manifold is good quality but the knobs are really cheap and the hi/low side fitting are really cheaply made and lastly the hoses don't even feel like rubber and more like stiff plastic. It all works but I see in a month or so I'll have to order real hoses and fittings for the service ports as those were super cheap made.

Nice set of manifolds, hoses, connectors, and valves for working on automotive AC. Vacuum pump works well. This probably isn't geavy duty enough for daily shop use, but is fine for occasional use at home for AC repairs.
