The hood is very nice, however it does not perform the function which it is designed for; that being exhausting smoke and odors to the outside of the building. There is an engineering or manufacturing flaw which causes turbulence in the plenum; as much air blows around and back through thru the filters as what goes out the vent pipe. You can see the smoke go into the right side filter, while the smoke on the left side gets blown away from left side filter. My duct pipe is clear, dampers opened and the axial blade has the correct rotation, even opening a window for make up air has no effect. I would advise performing a smoke test before permanently installing. Less than half the smoke gets exhausted. I will have to try a propeller type of blade or change the plenum to a round outlet instead if a 3"X10" discharge, and have the new blade inside the duct. I have been an Air Conditioning contractor for 40 years, and also a Mechanical Inspector for 15 years. One way or another I will have to make this hood work.

Absolutely perfect. Bright lights, powerful exhaust fan. Love the 3 speed fan. Easy, easy, easy to install. I'm a girl and had no problems at all installing this!

Had to go retro since the microwave with a hood took up too much space about the oven and love this one! All appliances are black so this was a necessity. Only little quirk was the curve in front which was not completely flush with the front of the cabinet (14 inches deep) so you see a bit of the under cabinet. not the end of the world BUT...

Nice range hood, but the light switch broke after 13 months, and the company won't pick up the phone or return my call when I leave a message.

Easy to install, simple clean look, fit right in with the existing vent. The instructions are not very helpful. The wiring would have been easier if the wires were a little longer.

My husband and I are fairly competent when it comes to DIY stuff, and so far this thing has been a pain in the ass to install. First off, the instructions are not instructions. They are a vague description of steps required for installation, but nothing step-by-step. And none of the screws it came with appear to be load-bearing. There are 9 screws in the packet, and only two of the screw-holes in the hood are small enough for them to not fall through. One of the screws has a nut with it, but no indication of where it goes. There is also a random locking washer, apparently without purpose.

We had to jerry-rig the electrical, as it came with just the three wires poking out with little connectors on the ends. But no indication of what they might connect to. Regardless, we used to have an over-the-stove microwave that plugged into an outlet, so we just stripped the power cord and attached it to the wires coming out of the hood. Ghetto, but it works.

In addition, we had to tweak the tightness of the mount where the power/fan/light buttons are, as they pushed into the housing and didn't want to come back out.

That all being said, the lights are nice and bright, and the fan is strong and quiet.

I'm sure we'll enjoy it once my husband comes back from getting mounting bolts from the hardware store....
